Each track on "Silent in Love" holds a special place in my heart.
Let's dive into some behind-the-scenes stories and trivia that shaped the creation of "Silent in Love":
1. "Still Need You" Inspired by Ed Sheeran's 10-minute songwriting challenge in the movie Yesterday, I decided to give it a shot myself. Recording the entire songwriting process on a voice memo, I had some hilarious moments along the way, but ultimately, I crafted a song that's deeply personal and meaningful.
2. "Run and Hide" The guitar solo in this track was heavily influenced by Steve Lukather's iconic solo in "Rosanna." It's a tribute to classic guitar craftsmanship that adds a nostalgic touch to the song's narrative.
3. "Country Girl" and "Those Eyes" Written during my early twenties, these songs reflect on youthful experiences and emotions, capturing a snapshot of my growth both as an individual and as a musician.
4. "You Always Know" Dedicated to my mom, who always loved "Momma songs" by artists like Tim McGraw, this track includes playful references to her favorite things like Krispy Kreme donuts and Pumpkin Spice. The guitar solo becomes a heartfelt tribute woven with personal touches.
5. "Those Eyes" Drawing inspiration from the music of Avatar: The Last Airbender, this track features unique percussion and the guitar tuning DADEBC#. I love experimenting with different musical elements and blending different influences into my songs.
6. "Go On" Grant Paylor and I wrote this song back when we were teenagers, capturing a spontaneous songwriting session live. Years later, I revisited and reimagined it for this album, preserving the magic of our shared musical journey.
I want to extend my deepest thanks to all of you who have supported me over the years. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have fueled my creativity and inspired me to explore new musical territories.
I hope you enjoy listening to "Silent in Love" as much as I enjoyed creating it. Each track is a piece of my soul, crafted with love and dedication.
Thank you once again for joining me on this musical adventure. Here's to more music, more stories, and more memories to come.
Warm regards,
John
